Hello! My name is Jamie and I am an intern at Renewed Life mental health counseling. I am currently attending Hofstra University where I am working towards my master’s degree in mental health counseling. Prior to attending Hofstra University, I worked as a special education teacher for ten years, during which I worked with children and their families. I have my master’s degree in childhood education/special education from C.W. Post.
The therapeutic approach I use is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). I strive to create a comfortable and collaborative environment for all my clients. I am an excellent listener and I thoroughly enjoy helping people. My main objective is to ensure my clients have a safe and confidential place to express themselves. As a therapeutic team, you and I will work together in order to achieve your goals.
